Participation in a Berkeley Global visiting student program is not a direct pathway into UC Berkeley and has no guaranteed influence on admission to any degree program. You will still need to meet the same admission requirements and be evaluated against other applicants when applying to degree programs at Berkeley or other universities.
Our programs are a visiting student experience, allowing you to take courses that give you Berkeley academic credit, which you may use towards completion of your studies at your home university. It is important to note that acceptance of transfer credit is always decided by the receiving institution.
Attending any of our visiting student programs can contribute positively to your applications for graduate school and jobs. Depending on the program selected, tangible benefits include graduate school admissions workshops, one-on-one counseling, opportunities to network with faculty and professionals, access to a UC Berkeley transcript of your grades, a certificate of completion, and more!
It is important to note that none of our Berkeley Global programs are degree-awarding. If you are interested in receiving a formal degree from UC Berkeley (e.g. BA, MS, PhD, etc.), you can learn more about your options through the Office of Undergraduate Admissions or the Berkeley Graduate Division webpage. You can reach out to the undergraduate office through their contact request form. Questions regarding Masters or doctoral-level study can be sent to the Graduate Division directly.
Students who are interested in applying to a UC Berkeley degree program directly, can begin a formal application through the UC Berkeley main campus.
