The Berkeley Global Access Program itself does not explicitly help you find, apply for or secure research opportunities. You will have to pursue such opportunities independently through your own research and outreach. This can be an opportunity to practice skills such as networking, informational interviewing, and academic writing and communication. If you are interested in such, we don't discourage you from seeking out research opportunities in your free time.
That said, we also believe that the rich full-time academic, social and cultural experiences provided by the Berkeley Global Access Program and the activities included are sufficient to provide for a fulfilling visiting experience at UC Berkeley.
Please feel free to reach out to the BGA Department at bga@berkeley.edu if you'd like to learn more about past BGA students' experiences with independently securing unpaid research opportunities during their visiting studies.
