In general, the Berkeley Global Access Program (BGA) grants visiting students access to classes listed in our online course catalog for their intended semester(s) of study. This includes classes in a variety of subjects including social sciences, humanities, arts, languages, engineering, math, biological sciences and more.
It is important to know that some UC Berkeley departments do place enrollment restrictions on visiting students or have limited space and availability. These departments include Economics, Business, Physics, Law, Legal Studies, Environmental Design, Computer Science, Information and Data Science.
Our BGA advisors will work with you individually when applying for courses to maximize your chances of getting into your desired classes, but UC Berkeley Global does not guarantee enrollment outcomes for students. Therefore, students interested in the impacted subject areas listed above need to be flexible about their course selection and prepare several back-up choices in case their first choices are not available.
If you have questions about a specific course, you can use our BerkeleyTime student-driven resource to look up historic enrollment data. You may also reach out to our BGA advisors at bga@berkeley.edu with more detailed questions.
