The Berkeley Haas Global Access Program (BHGAP) offers some Graduate-level business courses for students in the Graduate Track, taught by Haas School of Business faculty. However, the BHGAP is not equivalent to an MBA program. It does not award a degree diploma, and should not be seen as equivalent to a degree program. Instead, the BHGAP is a visiting student experience. Students who successfully complete two semesters will receive a certificate of completion and can become eligible to apply for 12 months of OPT work authorization after their program.
With that said, the BHGAP can provide a helpful introduction to Graduate-level topics in business, and allows students to network with Haas School of Business faculty. Sometimes faculty can help students apply to future MBA programs by writing letters of recommendation. Many students who go through this program do end up pursuing graduate studies related to business, including MBA programs, and some use this program to get a sense of whether or not the MBA path is suitable.
