The Berkeley Global Admissions Office evaluates each applicant holistically, so it is still possible to be admitted without a 3.0 GPA or higher. Every semester, we admit some students who do not meet the GPA minimum but demonstrate readiness and competency in other ways.
We consider multiple factors not limited to your GPA, including your Statement of Purpose, the rigor of your course of study, your level of English fluency, as well as any professional experiences presented in your application. In your Statement of Purpose essay, please highlight exemplary achievements, or briefly explain any anomalies in your grades.
We also encourage you to provide additional supporting materials (e.g. curriculum vitae, resume, letter of recommendation, etc.) in the Additional Documents section of your application for consideration.
Even if you don't meet the GPA minimum, we encourage you to apply thoughtfully and maximize other opportunities to show your merits, such as the Statement of Purpose essay or additional uploads such as your CV/resume.
