2. I am having trouble setting up my CalNet ID. What do I do to resolve this issue?
The CalNet Support Team will be able to assist you with this as they handle all CalNet related inquiries. Depending on your specific issue, you can reach out to them here: https://calnetweb.berkeley.edu/it-help-desk-and-calnet-support. You may also visit their website https://calnetweb.berkeley.edu/ for comprehensive information.
3. How long will it take to receive my I-20 or DS-2019 once I submit the request?
Your I-20/DS-2019 will be sent to you via an email from Docusign to your UC Berkeley email account within 7-14 days of submitting your I-20/DS-2019 request.
4. What if I am transferring my SEVIS record from another school?
If you are a current F-1 or J-1 visa holder and you intend to transfer your record from another school, you will indicate that on your I-20 request form. You will also need to reach out to your DSO or ARO at your previous school to request that they release your record to UC Berkeley Extension. They will likely require you to submit your UC Berkeley acceptance letter.
5. I am having difficulty getting a visa interview before the program start date, what can I do?
F-1 and J-1 students are eligible to request an expedited visa appointment. Please note that in order to request an expedited appointment, you must already have an appointment booked. Once you have an appointment, you can login back into your account or email the consulate that you will attend and request an expedited visa appointment. This process may be different at each consulate, so please check with the consulate that you intend to go to on their process.
6. What if I am going to arrive late due to conflicting academic schedules at my home university?
Reach out to visiting-intl@berkeley.edu for information about the immigration implications of arriving late and to request a late arrival letter. In addition, contact your program to receive approval to arrive late and receive information on any mandatory orientations that you may miss.
