Congratulations on your offer! Once you have been admitted to a program, you will have a set amount of time to accept or decline your offer of admission. Please see your admission offer letter for the exact date.
We understand that students need information and cooperation from other parties before being able to make a decision. Thus, we are flexible about our decision acceptance windows so long as the final deadline has not passed. Please note that the final deadline to accept an admission offer for Fall 2025 is July 3.
That said, we strongly recommend that you accept your offer of admission as soon as possible, and no later than the offer acceptance deadline specified in your offer letter.
Accepting as early as possible allows you to start your student pre-arrival process and help ensure that you can attend the program on time. When you accept your offer, you will receive your student ID number and access to UC Berkeley systems, including your student email account. You will also start receiving information about your program and resources to help you prepare for your arrival. International students will also be invited to apply online for their F-1 Student Visa documents, which is important to start as soon as possible to ensure you can arrive at Berkeley in time for your program.
Please note that although accepting your offer will bill your account, payment is not due until the payment deadline, which is typically about a month before the start of the program. That said, failure to accept your admission offer by the acceptance deadline could result in forfeiture of any program-specific scholarships you may have been awarded.
If you accept your offer and then decide not to attend, cancellation is easy. To cancel, log into your CalCentral account and submit a cancellation form. As long as you cancel your enrollment in writing before the payment deadline, you will not be financially liable for your program fees. If you have already paid your program fees by the time you cancel and the payment deadline has not passed, you will receive a refund of any eligible fees per the information here.
